The overall series winners will win an all-expenses-paid trip to the iconic Gleneagles Golf Course in Scotland.
The Johnnie Walker Golf Series continues to pick up momentum with the second leg of the tournament set to take place at the Thika Greens Golf Resort this Saturday, 27th November 2021.
The second of 18 qualifying legs of the Road to Gleneagles tournament will build on the success of the opening round and will see 165 players from Thika Greens Golf Resort compete for a chance to qualify to play in the latter stages of the tournament.
Kenya Breweries Limited’s (KBL) Marketing Manager, Josephine Katambo, says that the brand remains committed to helping the sport grow while giving Amateurs a chance to learn from the pros in the series.
"Johnnie Walker remains committed to maintaining the upward trajectory that Kenyan golf is on. Through this tournament, our objective is to marry golf and social interaction, with a view to bringing more people to embrace the sport. The Road to Gleneagles circuit is another of our many contributions towards the development of the sport," Katambo said.
The Thika Greens Golf Resort Captain, Ndiga Kithae, expressed his delight at the opportunity to take part in the series:
“We are extremely grateful to Johnnie Walker for giving Thika Greens golfers the opportunity to show exactly what we are capable of. On behalf of the players, I would also like to thank Johnnie Walker for putting together this tournament, which has definitely added some excitement to the golf calendar,"
"The four-ball Stableford format also adds another layer of uniqueness to the tournament, a challenge that I am sure our players will relish. The course is in excellent condition, so I expect our players to turn up in numbers and play some good golf on the day."
